We head to Gettysburg as soon as we get in on Friday. We have rented a small car and are staying in Arlington VA so if a few peeps in that area need a ride to the rally Sat. maybe we can help out. Have not looked at the rail system, hear parking is a booger so may opt to go that route.
the Metro is cheap. fast. clean. safe. pentagon city, pentagon, crystal city metro stops in Arlington are just a few minutes from the rally site (and a couple of blocks probably Federal TRiangle, or Metro Ctr stops on the blue line)

My friend and I are from Florida and will be arriving in DC early in the morning on 9-12. We will meet everyone at the rally oint at Freedom Plaza. I understand that the left is trying to organize a group to block our march. Is there any truth to this?

Hyatt Regency at the Capitol, Bill and Donna Starnes
I'm staying Thur thru Sat nights at Doubletree Hotel Crystal City National Airport (Arlington VA). I really like Crystal City, and I really like the subway in DC. Crystal City is right across the river from the Lincoln Memorial, and Doubletree is walking distance to the subway.
We're staying at the Holiday Inn in Greenbelt, MD. Its $89.oo/nite and close to the Metro green line in College Park. I used to live in Greenbelt and know my way around there pretty well. We're driving up and should be there sometime Thursday evening.

My husband and I have just decided to join everyone in DC. We will be driving and hopefully staying with friends in Maryland. How many of us are planning to go at this point? Where are we planning to meet up and when? We plan to be in Friday afternoon.

We still have a couple weeks to work out the logistics of meeting up, etc., but for right now the #1 priority is to get everyone's travel arrangements nailed down ASAP.
At present, travel deals are still available for around $300 per person, including a round-trip plane ticket and two nights in a hotel bed (assuming a hotel room is shared). I have no idea how long deals in this range will continue to be available.
My friends and I will be flying in and out of BWI Airport and two of us are staying at the Hyatt Regency Crystal City.

Things to keep in mind when scheduling your travel arrangements:
THE METRO : Taxicabs are plentiful in DC, but if you don't mind using the METRO (subway), staying at a hotel near a METRO stop will save you a few bucks while you're there.
WHERE TO STAY : In the course of my search, I noticed a number of economical hotel options available in the Crystal City area, which is just a short METRO (or cab) ride from the Capitol, and not a bad option at all. There are a number of hotel deals for locations in Maryland and Virginia out away from central DC, but I'd recommend staying in DC or Arlington, VA for convenience.
REAGAN AIRPORT : Flying in and out of Reagan National Airport is generally the most convenient--but not always the most economical. Reagan National is located directly on the METRO line in Arlington and is close to just about everything.
BWI AIRPORT : Flights in and out of BWI Airport tend to be the most economical--though not always the most convenient. BWI Airport is about 30 miles outside of DC. If you're flying in and out of BWI Airport, please make sure you're familiar with the transportation options between BWI and central DC. A variety of trains, shuttles and buses run between BWI and DC, but options are generally more limited on the weekends and after hours, and I strongly recommend you have a plan in place (as well as a fallback plan) ahead of time. Of course, a taxicab will be happy to run you out to BWI in a pinch, but cab fare between BWI and DC will likely take a big bite out of your travel budget. Getting to and from DC from BWI isn't that difficult, but you'll have a much easier time if you show up informed.

Hello from Idaho , Im trying like a mad man to find a way to DC ,,, so expensive all around its driving me crazy. Congrats on all who are going .
We used the American Airlines Widget .... download it ... then put in Where you want to go, When, and What you are willing to pay! We got $140 round trip to DC from Dallas ....

I'll be there - it's a matter of Country. Went up for 7/4 and the D.C. 'march' really needs all of us North Texans. I might be able to get a few people rooms for decent discounts under the guise of an extended family member so let me know if anyone needs help with a hotel reservation. I would like a Dallas t-shirt.I live in Lucas and have had no luck in a contact from anyone to go with to DC. Time is passing fast and it will soon be to late to make plans to go. I can't go alone and I notice a lot of women that are in the same boat as I am. It will be one less body if I don't get some help. Saturday morning, Sept. 12, is the big day for the March on Washington. We will be gathering at Freedom Plaza at 9 a.m. and will hear from grassroots leaders from around the country. We will have a stage and some music to go along with the speakers. Folks are encouraged to line up by state, so just look for your state flag and gather with your group the best you can. We will also make announcements from the stage about the order of the states.
Our new start time for the March itself is 11:30 a.m., but we should remain flexible in case something changes. The police are working with us to ensure a successful event, and they will be providing the security and road closures necessary to get us all the way down Pennsylvania Avenue to the Capitol.
